Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is a gentle technique that restores balance, supporting the body’s natural healing for various conditions.
Bowen In Depth
Bowen Therapy, also known as the Bowen Technique, was developed by Australian therapist Tom Bowen in the 1950’s. It has been so successful at treating a wide range of conditions that it is now officially recognized within Australia’s healthcare system.
The technique is a gentle form of soft tissue bodywork that stimulates the body to heal itself. A Bowen therapy session focuses on restoring balance and promotes healing through light manipulation in precise muscle groups and fascia to stimulate the body’s natural potential to heal itself.

Bowen Doesn’t just treat Physical Conditions…
The Process
A typical Bowen session starts with a discussion about your concerns, whether physical or emotional. From there, we assess the body holistically, identifying any areas of imbalance or dysfunction from a systemic perspective. We then proceed with one or more Bowen procedures, each involving a series of precise, gentle moves. These purposeful moves can be performed through light clothing. In between each set of moves the practioner may leave the room for a “pause “ to allow sufficient time for the clients body to begin responding as the nervous system starts to reset.
